2.4. Brakes

Operating brake:
When in motion the motors act as an operating brake. To brake the
wheelchair slowly, move the steering and driving lever (joystick) slowly
back to the neutral position (initial position).
For more forceful braking, release the steering and driving lever.
Parking brake/parking:
Switch the wheelchair off using the on/off switch (see Chapter 4.1).
If the drives are engaged, you cannot push or move the electric
wheelchair (see Chapter 4.4).
Pushing mode:
In order to be able to push the wheelchair, pull the release levers
on both sides of the wheelchair upwards (see Chapter 4.4), if the
wheelchair is switched on, then the battery status display will flash.
For pushing mode you can switch the wheelchair off.
50
The braking distance is significantly longer on slopes
than on flat ground. Bear this in mind when going
down ramps and brake in time.
Make sure that you brake your electric wheelchair in
good time. Particularly when approaching people or
when driving downhill.
Please note that push mode by disconnecting the
electromagnetic brakes must only be used on flat
ground. The electromechanical brake is then disab-
led. Non-observance means danger to life.
Emergency brake:
Press the on/off switch to initiate an emergency stop when driving.
This will lead to intense deceleration. This can lead to injuries and is
therefore only to be used in emergencies.
An emergency stop must only be carried out in an
emergency as it can lead to injuries.

2.5. Use on Public Roads

The wheelchair is designed for indoor and outdoor use.
Please keep in mind that you are using public roads and therefore
have to observe all road traffic regulations.
Do not endanger other road users through inconsiderate driving,
especially on walkways.

2.6. Purpose

The Eltego electric wheelchair is designed for indoor and outdoor use
by adult persons with impaired mobility.
It is therefore sufficiently compact and agile for indoor use and
also capable of handling medium distances and overcoming small
obstacles outdoors. It is classified under category B according to the
EN 12184 standard.
The maximum load capacity is 120 kg.
