Supplementary information regarding the

recording time

The recording times listed in the tables on page
24(GB) show the values with the following conditions:
• One 80-GB hard disk mounted:
If you install another hard disk to double the capacity,
the recording times will also become doubled, and
with the capacity increased fourfold, the recording
times will also increase fourfold.
• Of the capacity of the disk, 1% is used as the archive
area and the remaining 99% is used as normal
recording area.
• One input:
If multiple cameras are connected, they will share the
recording areas. For example, when you set the
recording cycle to 1 second with two camera inputs,
one input is recorded each two seconds. Thus, one
camera's input is recorded each eight seconds when
there are eight inputs.
Note
The size of a picture file may vary, as pictures are
recorded with JPEG compression. The recording
times, therefore, may not always match the values
shown in the tables.

Procedure of Normal Recording

FULL indicator
To start recording
Press the z REC button.
The indicator on the z REC button lights, and
recording begins.
Recording is made with the specified picture quality
and at the specified recording cycle in the normal
recording area.
When you set AUDIO RECORDING to ON and audio
recording is valid with the specified recording cycle,
audio is recorded with video.
Note
When timer recording has been set (the indicator on
the TIMER button lit), recording cannot be started
with the z REC button. First press the TIMER button
to cancel timer recording.
When the normal recording area becomes full
If overwriting of the normal recording area has been
set to OFF, a warning message will appear on the
monitor screen when the remaining capacity drops to
the specified value (1% with the default). At the same
time, the FULL indicator flashes and a warning signal
is output from the FULL terminal on the rear panel.
The overwriting ON/OFF setting and the value of the
remaining for warning can be changed with
RECORDING CONDITIONS SET of MAIN
MENU 1.

To stop recording
