Ping Watchdog
Tools > Ping Watchdog
Ping Watchdog is a feature that allows the switch to automatically ping the host device
(ie: router) provided it is on the same network. The switch will automatically reboot
itself if no response is given from the host device.
1. Log into your switch management page (see "Access your switch management page"
on page 5).
2. Click on Tools and click on Ping Watchdog
3. Select Enable from the drop-down menu to turn on Ping Watchdog and click Apply.
4. Review the settings then click Add.
•
Host IP Address: Input the IP address of the host device you would like the
switch to ping
•
Query Interval: Specifies the length of time before each ping
•
Retry Counts: Specifies how many failed ping attempts before the switch
reboots
•
Reboot Counts: Specifies the max number of times the switch will reboot
before it stops rebooting

Modifying Ping Watchdog
Tools > Ping Watchdog
1. Log into your switch management page (see "Access your switch management page"
on page 5).
2. Click on Tools and click on Ping Watchdog
3. Click on Edit to modify your existing setup. Click on Delete to delete this existing
setup.
4. Review the settings and click Apply to apply the modifications
