OPTIONAL ENGINE BLOCK HEATER
AND INTERNAL BATTERY CHARGER
120 VAC INPUT RECEPTACLES
This generator can be equipped with an engine block
heater and an internal battery charger as options.
They are provided with electrical cords to connect to a
commercial power source.
The engine block heater and internal battery charger
both require 120 VAC for operation. The output receptacle
panel of this generator can be optionally equipped with two
120-volt, 20-amp input receptacles to provide commercial
power for these optional features.
These receptacles will ONLY function when commercial
power has been supplied to them (Figure 56). When using
extension cords, refer to Table 6 for the correct size and
length.

When using the generator in hot climates there is no reason
to apply power to the engine block heater. However, if the
generator will be used in cold climates it is always a good
idea to apply power to the heater at all times.
If the generator will be used daily, the battery should
normally not require charging. If the generator will be idle
(not used) for long periods of time, apply power to the
battery charger receptacle via commercial power using a
power cord of adequate size.
NOTICE
If the generator will be idle (not used) for long periods of
time, ALWAYS keep power supplied to the generator's
internal battery charger to ensure adequate starting
capability.
