Optional Interface Module (IFM)
The Interface Module aligns the paper paths of the engine and finisher, cools and decurls paper exiting the
printer, and allows communication between the engine and finisher. One Interface Module must be ordered
when an optional Finisher D4 is ordered.
Square Fold Trimmer (for Light Production Finisher with Booklet)
The SquareFold Trimmer will handle all output from the Booklet tray Refer to Booklet Maker specification
above.
Paper sizes: A4 to SRA3/13x18in
Cut amount: 2-20mm adjustable in 0.1mm increments
All output from the Finisher D4 with Booklet Maker can be passed
through, square-folded, trimmed, or both squared-folded and
trimmed
GBC AdvancedPunch
The GBC AdvancedPunch is an inline die punch that utilises modular die sets to enable a variety
of hole-punch patterns in A4 long-edge fed media. Output from the GBC AdvancedPunch is
bound offline.
The GBC AdvancedPunch requires an Interface Module (IFM) as well as a HCS or Finisher D4
with or without Booklet Finisher. Customers wishing to add the GBC AdvancedPunch to their
existing system can do so - upgrade kits will be required.
The GBC AdvancedPunch is not available for use on C3 Finisher, or with the Offset Catch Tray.
GBC
®
AdvancedPunch™ does not work in conjunction with Z-fold, bi-fold, letter fold, finisher
punch, staple, or booklet making.
Due to its location in the system
Stock from the Post Process Inserter Tray cannot be run through the GBC
AdvancedPunch™.
Stacking to the booklet output tray or letter fold output tray is not permitted.
Pre-printed Tabs cannot be punched
The GBC AdvancedPunch is supported by all colour servers.
The GBC AdvancedPunch supports media from 75 to 216 gsm, coated and uncoated.
ProClick die (ED200564) supports media from 75 to 203 gsm
The GBC AdvancedPunch is able to bypass all coated and uncoated media sizes printed on the Color
C60/C70 Digital Press.
Hole punch position from edge of paper is not adjustable.
Opening the door of the GBC AdvancedPunch™ while the machine is running will cause the machine to jam
and shut down.
Gloss coated media may not run as reliably as uncoated paper. Typically, coated papers and high area
coverage exhibit increased variability in paper handling due to lower coefficients of friction. This may result
in varied punch registration and increased jam rates.
Due to the nature of punching holes, each punched sheet is slightly deformed, and when stacked, the edge
with the holes will have an increased height as compared to the non-punched edge.
Reduced stack quality may be experienced due to variability in the punch hole formation.
The stack height can be effected by many factors, such as: paper type, quality, weight and curl, as well as die
type, age and condition. Paper curl is best when it has a slight downward curl on the edges. This can be
adjusted by the operator while running prints.
When sending output to the stack tray of the HCS, if this stack height difference exceeds one inch, the
machine will shut down and alert the operator to unload the stacker tray. This is done to prevent a jam
condition, and will result in a reduction of stack capacity dependent on the die in use.
The GBC AdvancedPunch supports tab stock no wider than 230 mm; oversized tabs may be damaged.
Stacking may be misaligned on jobs containing tab stock; these jobs will require additional jogging
before final finishing.
