Remove the M.2 module from the chassis.

Loosen the screw.
b.
Release the M.2 backplane from the pin and carefully lift the M.2 backplane out from the
chassis.

Disconnect all M.2 cables from the system board. See
239.
If your server installs a M.2 PCIe 3.0 backplane, see the following to remove the cables:
a.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the M.2 cable to the adapter.
b.
Disconnect the M.2 cable from the adapter.
After you finish
If you are instructed to return the old M.2 backplane or M.2 drive, follow all packaging instructions and use
any packaging materials that are provided.
