REMOVING THE BLADE (FIG. KK, LL)
WARNING
!
To avoid injury from an accidental
start, make sure the switch is in
the OFF position and the plug is
not connected to the power source
outlet.
1. Remove the blade guard and anti-
kickback pawls assembly. See
Removing blade guard and
anti-kickback pawls assembly
instructions section.
2. Stand before the front side of saw.
Remove the table insert (1) by
inserting your finger into the
opening (2) and pulling up. Raise
the blade to the maximum height
position by turning the blade
elevation/tilting handwheel
clockwise. (Fig. KK)
3. To loosen the arbor nut (3), place
the open-end wrench (8) on the flats
of the saw arbor to keep the arbor
from turning. (Fig. LL)
TIP: With one hand place open
end of wrench down onto arbor.
Wear protective glove on other hand
and rotate blade toward you until
wrench finds and drops down onto
arbor flats.
4. While retaining hold of open end
wrench with one hand, with other
hand place the box-end wrench on
the arbor nut (3). Pull box-end
wrench toward you to turn nut
counterclockwise and loosen it
from arbor.
5. Remove the arbor nut (3), outer
blade flange (4) and blade (7).
Clean but do not remove the inner
blade flange before reassembling
the blade.
6. Replace the table insert, blade
guard and anti-kickback pawls
assembly.
