2. At the front of the computer, simultaneously press the release latches on both of the
drive rails and pull the FDD out of its face-plate slot.
3. Remove the four M3x4 screws (two on each side) that connect the drive rails to the
FDD.

Replacing the FDD

To replace the computer's FDD, perform the following procedure and refer to Figures 4-23
and 4-24.
1. Connect the drive rails to the FDD (release latches to the front) using four M3x4
screws (two on each side).
2. Gently push the FDD into its face-plate slot until the drive snaps in place.
3. Connect power cable P6 (label down) and the data cable to the FDD.
NOTE: If you partially removed the CD-ROM drive (as suggested in section
4.8.1 Removing the FDD), secure the CD-ROM drive before continuing.
1. Replace the computer's right-side panel (refer to section 4.2.2.), left-side panel (refer
to section 4.2.6.) and front bezel (refer to section 4.2.8.), as viewed from the rear.
2. Connect the power cord and all external cables to the computer and turn on the power.
