monitor on and verify that the Brightness and Contrast are both adjusted correctly.
(D) Turn the computer on. (E) Verify that the system has the latest BIOS.
(F) Perform Step 3.
Step 3 Determine if the computer's Power LED is illuminated (green).
If the computer's Power LED is illuminated, perform Step 5. If the computer's
Power LED is not illuminated, perform Step 4.
Step 4 Determine if the fan is running.
If the fan is running, perform the LED Troubleshooting Process. If the fan is not
running, perform the Power Supply Troubleshooting Process.
Step 5 Determine if the monitor's Power LED is illuminated (green).
If the monitor's Power LED is illuminated, perform Step 6. If the monitor's Power
LED is not illuminated, perform Step 7.
Step 6 Determine if anything is displayed on the screen.
If something is displayed on the screen, perform Step 9. If nothing is displayed on
the screen, perform the Monitor Troubleshooting Process.
Step 7 (A) Verify that the video cable is not crimped. (B) Verify that the connector pins
are not damaged. (C) Verify that the connector is properly connected to the
appropriate port in the rear of the computer. (D) Reconnect the monitor's power
and video cables, if necessary. (E) Perform Step 8.
Step 8 Determine if the monitor's Power LED is illuminated (green).
If the monitor's Power LED is illuminated, perform Step 6. If the monitor's Power
LED is not illuminated, perform the Monitor Troubleshooting Process.
Step 9 Determine if the system loads DOS from the FDD without error.
If the system loads DOS from the FDD without error, perform Step 10. If the
system does not load DOS from the FDD without error, perform Step 11.
Step 10 Determine if the original problem still exists.
If the original problem still exists, perform Step 15. If the original problem no
longer exists, perform Step 12.
