CD-ROM Drive
This section covers the removal and replacement of the computer's CD-ROM drive.
Removing the CD-ROM Drive
To remove the computer's CD-ROM drive, perform the following procedure and refer to
Figures 4-19 and 4-20.
1. Turn off power to the computer, then disconnect the power cord and all external
cables connected to the computer.
2. Remove the computer's right-side panel (refer to section 4.2.1.) and front bezel (refer
to section 4.2.7.), as viewed from the rear.
3. Disconnect the power cable, the data cable, and the audio cable from the CD-ROM
drive.

4. At the front of the computer, simultaneously press the release latches on each of the
drive rails and pull the CD-ROM drive out of its face-plate slot.
5. Remove the four M3x4 screws (two on each side) that connect the guide brackets to
the CD-ROM drive.
