•The DIGITAL SP-PHONE indicator lights.
•A free line is automatically selected and the line indicator lights. (To change
the line selection, see page 66.)

When the other party answers, talk into the MIC (microphone).

•The indicator lights go out.
•In step 1, you can select a line by pressing a line button whose indicator does not
light, instead of pressing (DIGITAL!SP-PHONE).
•To switch to the handset while using the base unit speakerphone:
– If the handset is off the base unit, press (LINE1) or (LINE2) for the line, then press
(DIGITAL!SP-PHONE) on the base unit.
– If on the base unit, just lift up.
•The line indicators show the line status (p. 29).
•To use (PRIVACY) feature and (MUTE) feature, see pages 55 and 63.
Hands-free Digital Duplex Speakerphone
For best performance, please note the following:
•Talk alternately with the caller in a quiet room.
•If the other party has difficulty hearing you, press Ö to decrease the speaker volume.
•If the other party's voice from the speaker cuts in/out during a conversation,
press Ö to decrease the speaker volume.
