Adjusting Alignment
The spreader/riving knife mounts to a block that
can be repositioned to correctly align the spread-
er/riving knife to the blade. The mounting block
adjusts by turning the set screws in each corner
of the block.
Figure 118 shows the set screws associated with
controlling the mounting block position.

To adjust spreader/riving knife position:
1.
DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Remove table insert.
Loosen quick release lever shown in Figure

Loosen (2) cap screws on mounting block,
then adjust set screws on block to move it
in necessary direction (see "Mounting Block"
inset in Figure 118).

Re-install table insert and spreader/riving
knife, then tighten quick release lever.

Follow Checking Alignment, Steps 1–4, on
Page 70.
— If spreader/riving knife is in alignment
zone, no additional steps are necessary.
— If spreader/riving knife is not in alignment
zone, continue adjusting set screws on
mounting block as necessary to correctly
position spreader/riving knife.
7.
Tighten (2) cap screws on mounting block to
secure spreader/riving knife adjustment.

DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2.
Bend spreader/riving knife by hand while
installed, then follow Steps 1–4 in Checking
Alignment on Page 70 to determine if it is
parallel with blade and inside "Alignment
Zone."
— If this does not work, remove it to straight-
en.
— If you cannot straighten it properly, replace
it.
