MOTORCYCLE CLEANING

WASHING THE MOTORCYCLE
Washing the motorcycle helps to extend
its life and keeps it in pristine condition.
Waxing will also provide you with the
opportunity to find any abnormalities
and to prevent malfunctions. Wash the
motorcycle when it is cold.
1. Remove dirt and mud from the
motorcycle with cool running water.
You may use a soft sponge or brush.
Do not use hard materials which can
scratch the paint.
2. Wash the entire motorcycle with a
neutral detergent using a sponge or
soft cloth. The sponge or cloth
should be frequently soaked in the
soap solution.
3. Once the dirt has been completely
removed, rinse off the detergent with
plenty of water.
NOTE: The detergent used to wash the
motorcycle can negatively affect plastic
parts if the detergent is not fully rinsed
off. Make sure to fully rinse off all deter-
gent with plenty of water after washing
the motorcycle.
4. After rinsing, wipe off the motorcycle
with a wet chamois or cloth and
allow it to dry in the shade.
5. Check carefully for damage to
painted surfaces. If there is any
damage, obtain "touch-up" paint and
"touch-up" the damage following the
procedure below:
a. Clean all damaged spots and
allow them to dry.
b. Stir the paint and "touch-up" the
damaged spots lightly with a
small brush.
c. Allow the paint to dry completely.
