Before you invite someone to be a pas-
senger on your motorcycle, you need to
be thoroughly familiar with motorcycle
operation.
Ensure that passengers understand the
following before they ride with you.

The passenger should always hold
onto your waist or hips, or onto the
seat strap or grab bar, as equipped.
•
Ask your passenger not to make any
sudden movements. When you lean
going around a corner, the passen-
ger should lean with you.
•
The passenger should always keep
his or her feet on the footrests, even
when you are stopped at a light. To
help prevent burn injuries, warn your
passenger
not
exhaust pipe or muffler when mount-
ing or dismounting your motorcycle.
