Connecting a DC power source to a 5600 Series switch

This procedure describes the steps necessary to connect a DC power
source to a 5600 Series switch.

Ensure the DC power source is switched off.

Checking LEDs

This procedure describes how to check and interpret LEDs on the 5000
Series switches.

Holding the converter module by the sides, slide the converter
module into the 5000 Series switch using the guide rails.
Press firmly to make sure that the converter module is fully
seated.
Fasten the converter module screws to the switch using a
screwdriver.
Action
Plug the DC adapter into the power supply module.
Connect the DC leads to the adapter terminal block.
Tighten the screws on top of the adapter terminal block to secure
the DC leads.
Attach the opposite ends of the leads to a –48V DC power
source.
