2. Essential System Component Installation and Service

Purpose
This chapter provides instructions for the installation and removal of essential system components
including processors, memory, storage devices, and add-in cards.
If you are continuing the system integration from the previous chapter, you may skip ahead to the
section describing processor installation.
Before You Begin
Before working with your server product, observe the safety and ESD precautions found in the
Warnings section at the beginning of this manual.
Tools and Supplies Needed
Anti-static wrist strap and conductive foam pad (recommended)

System Reference
All references to left, right, front, top, and bottom assume the reader is facing the front of the chassis.
