Intended use
Siemens products may only be used for the applications described in the catalog and the
associated technical documentation. If third-party products and components are used, these
have to be recommended or approved by Siemens.
Correct, reliable operation of the products requires proper transport, storage, positioning,
assembly, installation, commissioning and operation, as well as careful maintenance. The
permitted ambient conditions must be adhered to. Notes in the respective documentation
must be observed.

Qualification for installation
The specialist who performs or supervises the electrical installation and maintenance of the
equipment must have read these installation instructions and must also follow them. They
also must have been commissioned by the system operator.
Germany
The requirements of DGUV Regulation 3 or DIN VDE 0105-100:
• Technical qualification (electrical engineering)
• Knowledge and experience in the respective field of activity
• Knowledge of the relevant standards
• Assessment of the work assigned to them
• Identifying hazards
Austria
The following requirements apply, ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 50110-1:
An electrician is "a person with appropriate technical training, knowledge and experience in
identifying and avoiding hazards that may be caused by electricity."
Switzerland
The following requirements apply, NIV, SR 734.27:
"Chapter 2: Permit for Installation Work, Section 1: Permit Requirement, Art. 6. Anyone who
builds, modifies or repairs electrical installations and anyone who permanently connects
electrical products to electrical installations or interrupts, modifies or repairs such
connections, requires an installation permit from the supervisory authority.
Section 2: General Installation Permit, Art. No. 7 - License for Natural Persons. Natural persons
who perform installation work on their own responsibility are granted a general installation
permit if:
• They are competent
• Their level of training is state-of-the-art, and their continuing professional development is
ensured; and
• they warrant that they will comply with the provisions of this ordinance."
