Media Redundancy Parameters
By default, the RX3i CEP Carrier is not set up for Media Redundancy. If the RX3i CEP Carrier
will be a Media Redundancy Client, select the carrier ports that will be used for Ring Port 1,
Ring Port 2 and the MRP Domain. The MRP Domain name is used to assign MRP Clients to
the media redundancy manager (MRM) for the network ring. The Domain Name is defined
in the PROFINET I/O Controller's Media Redundancy tab.
Hot-Standby CPU Redundancy using PROFINET I/O
Parameters
The Redundancy tab selects whether the CEP is redundantly controlled. Since the Rx3i CEP
supports PROFINET System Redundancy when it is configured in an HSB CPU Redundancy
system, the Rx3i CEP Programmer automatically selects redundant control by setting the
Redundancy Mode parameter to HSB CPU Redundancy.
When the Rx3i CEP is not configured in an HSB CPU Redundancy system, the Rx3i CEP
automatically selects simplex operation (non- redundant control) by setting the
Redundancy Mode parameter to None.
If desired, the user may configure a redundancy-capable CEP within an HSB CPU
Redundancy system for simplex operation (non-redundant control) by changing the
Redundancy Mode parameter on the Redundancy tab form HSB CPU Redundancy to None

Adding RX3i I/O Modules to a Remote Node

For a list of currently supported I/O modules, refer to the Important Product Information
document provided with the firmware version on your CEP Carrier.
Configuring Modules with Sub-modules
Some PACSystems RX3i I/O modules have functionality that must be configured before
operation; otherwise PAC Machine Edition indicates an error on the module.
Figure 14: Add Sub-Module for Slot 1 Device
To complete the configuration, right click the slot containing the IO Module (Figure 14) and
select Change Submodule List. This opens a dialog box that presents a list of sub-module
options.
