Recovering OmniBook Files

To install Windows 95 (factory-installation)

The following procedure describes how to install the Windows 95 operating system
that came with your OmniBook. These steps will format the hard disk drive. Back up
any files you would like to save before installing Windows 95.
The entire recovery process takes approximately 1 hour. To install the
Windows 95 operating system, you'll need a CD-ROM drive and the Recovery CD.
1. Connect the ac adapter to the OmniBook.
2. If you have an internal CD-ROM drive, install it.

If you have a PC Card or parallel port CD-ROM drive, connect it (see page 7-5 for
instructions about modify the Support Utility disk).
3. Insert the Recovery CD in CD-ROM drive.
4. Insert the Support Utility disk in the floppy disk drive.
5. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot the OmniBook. The MS-DOS Startup menu
appears.
6. Choose "Recover Windows 95 from OmniBook Recovery CD."
7. Follow the setup instructions on the screen.
8. When prompted, select "Create Hibernate Partition."
We recommend that you create a 144-MB partition—the same as the factory
default.
9. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot the OmniBook. The MS-DOS Startup menu
appears.
10. Choose "Recover Windows 95 from OmniBook Recovery CD."
The recovery process can take up to an hour. Do not interrupt the recovery
process or unplug the ac adapter until recovery is completed.
