Getting Comfortable
Using the OmniBook Keyboard

To use the Fn hot keys

Labeled F1 through F12, these keys provide shortcut key sequences for various
system controls. The OmniBook keyboard shows the Fn hot keys labeled in gray.
The following table provides a list and description of the OmniBook Fn key
combinations.

Does this
Decreases the display's brightness.
Increases the display's brightness.
Decreases the display's contrast (non-TFT displays only).
Increases the display's contrast (non-TFT displays only).
Switches among the built-in display, an external display, and
simultaneous displays.
For use with two batteries: Briefly displays the individual battery
status for each battery, then resumes displaying the combined
battery status. For complete information about battery status, see
page 3-14.
Toggles the sound on and off (mutes sound).
Toggles the built-in keypad on and off. Does not affect an external
keyboard. If Num Lock is on, then the numeric functions are active;
otherwise, cursor control is active.
Toggles Num Lock on and off for both built-in and external
keyboards. For the built-in keyboard, keypad (Fn+F8) must also be on
to get Num Lock.
Toggles Scroll Lock on and off.
Enters Hibernate mode.
Enters Standby mode.
Enters Suspend mode
Increases volume.
Decreases volume.
