Anti-pollution device maintenance
The correct operation of the anti-pollution devices not only ensures
respect for the environment, but also affects vehicle performance.
Therefore, keeping these devices in good working conditions is the first
rule for driving ecologically sound.
The first precaution is to follow the "Maintenance Schedule"
scrupulously.
If starting is difficult, do not make several attempts. Push starts, towing
the vehicle or using downhill slopes to start are all manoeuvres which
could damage the catalytic converters.
Use only a battery charger and contact the Ferrari Service Network.
If the engine does not work properly while travelling, continue driving,
reducing engine performance to the bare minimum, and contact the
nearest service centre of the Ferrari Service Network.
A low fuel level could lead to an irregular fuel supply to the engine
and inevitably increase the exhaust gas temperatures; this could cause
serious damage to the catalytic converters.
Do not install heat guards and do not remove those
already fitted to the catalytic converter and to the
exhaust lines.
Never spray anything on the catalytic converters, the
oxygen sensors or the exhaust lines.
The catalytic converters reach extremely high
temperatures during operation. To avoid fire risks, do
not park the car vehicle on flammable materials (e.g., grass,
dry leaves, pine needles, etc.) Failure to observe these rules
may result in risk of fire.
