The engine cooling system uses a pressurised circuit (1.4 kg/cm
- 29.8 psi) which circulates an antifreeze mixture.
The maximum allowable temperature is 115 °C.
Reduce engine speed immediately if the temperature gauge needle goes above
115 °C; if the temperature does not drop, have the system checked at the

Circulation of the coolant is controlled by a centrifugal pump driven by
the crankshaft, by means of a belt.
The thermostat unit is fitted with a bleeder screw to release the air from
the cooling circuit during refilling or during circulation problems.
Water radiator
Located in the front of the vehicle, it uses two electric fans for cooling.
The fans activate according to the engine operating conditions and are
controlled by the engine (on the right-hand bank) and air conditioning
ECU, which receives the coolant temperature signal from the NTC
sensor, located on the left-hand water outlet manifold.
Expansion tank
This tank compensates for variations in the mixture volume and
pressure due to engine heating; the tank is fitted with a filler neck that
has a pressure cap with a valve set to 1 kg/cm
