area C, indicating that the F1-SuperFast fast gearshift mode is enabled
(provided that the conditions described on page 55 are met).
Furthermore, when this function is active, the CST system operation is
more noticeable and, during sharp accelerations, the vehicle's grip on
the road may be lower.
The "F1-S" function may be deactivated when in SPORT mode by
pressing button E. Both F1-S and SF will disappear from the TFT
display, but the SPORT message will remain on. Press the same button
again to reactivate the function.
"SPORT" mode can be activated even if the "F1-S" function is already
active.
It is advisable not to use "SPORT" mode on roads with
low or medium grip conditions (e.g., ice, snow, or wet
roads) as the driving wheels could skid during gearshifts.
Therefore, racing-style driving is advisable only on race
tracks.
In case of faults in the control lever assemblies, the system, in addition
to activating the buzzer and illuminating the fault warning light (B,
see page 51), auto-selects the automatic mode and any further gearshift
commands will be ignored, including "N" and "R".
If the malfunction persists, contact the F
malfunction corrected.

If the "F1-S" function is selected when already in "Automatic" mode,
the system selects a fast gearshift mode (faster gearshifts than in
normal "Automatic" mode).
When the function is active, the speed of gearshifts increases
proportionally with engine speed, in other terms, the higher the RPM
the faster the gearshift.
DOWN-shifts on dry roads with the accelerator pedal released will
result in an engine braking effect close to the grip limit of the driving
wheels.
The gearshift speed is automatically adjusted in racing-style driving
conditions (engine speed over 3,000 RPM) and more appreciably as
the engine speed increases.
It is advisable not to use the "F1-S" function on roads with low or medium
grip conditions (e.g., ice, snow, or wet roads) as the driving wheels could skid
during gearshifts. Therefore, a racing driving style should only be adopted on
a race track.
