The WRS wakes up and remains active for the amount of time specified by its HMI port timeout setting
(default = 5 minutes). If the WRS returns to sleep mode before you are done, disconnect and then
reconnect the cable to the WRS port.
4. Start a HyperTerminal session, log on (1200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control), and
then press ENTER to display the HMI prompt.
If there is no communication with the WRS, verify that the battery is properly inserted and the plastic
insulating strip is removed.
5. Type BIND RSX a (a = last 4 digits of RSX's EUID as noted in step 1) and press ENTER.
6. Note the Link Quality % parameter value—it should be above 90% for good WRS/RSX wireless
communication.
7. Type UNBIND and press ENTER.
Chapter 4–Setting Up the WRS/RSX Pair

Before You Begin

Before commissioning the WRS/RSX pair, verify the following:
RSX is powered.
WRS is powered—the battery's plastic insulating strip has been removed.
Although not required for startup, the following are required to fully commission the WRS:
– TECs are addressed and attached to RSXs.
– At the TEC, verify that the ROOM TEMP, RM STPT DIAL, and DI OVRD SW points are not
overridden (such as by WCIS, Database Mate, the field panel, workstation software, etc.). If
points are overridden, then release the points so the RSX can update them with WRS values.

Binding the WRS/RSX Pair

The WRS/RSX pair is normally bound during installation. In the event you need to bind the WRS/RSX pair,
you can use either WRS HMI commands or the optional auto-binding cable.
When you bind a WRS and RSX:
The WRS is informed which RSX/TEC will receive and process its data.
The RSX is informed which WRS device will send its data.
