Replacing an Existing WRS

To replace an existing or failed WRS:
1. Remove the existing WRS from the sensor base plate, remove the battery, and make note of EUID.
2. On the new WRS, remove the plastic insulating strip between the battery in the WRS battery holder (or
insert the battery) to power-up.
3. Bind the new WRS with the RSX using the auto-binding cable or by following these steps using HMI
commands.
a. Connect a computer cable (540-143) from a computer to the RJ-11 port on the bottom of the WRS.
The WRS wakes up and remains active for the amount of time specified by its HMI port timeout
setting (default = 5 minutes). If the WRS returns to sleep mode before you are done, disconnect
and then reconnect the cable to the WRS port.
b. Start a HyperTerminal session, log on (1200 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow control),
and then press ENTER to display the HMI prompt.
If there is no communication with the WRS, verify that the battery is properly inserted and the
plastic insulating strip is removed.
c. Type BIND WRS a (a = last 4 digits of EUID of the existing WRS) and press ENTER.
If the existing WRS EUID is unavailable, you can instead type BIND RSX a (a = last 4 digits
of EUID of the RSX) and press ENTER to bind.
4. When the new WRS and RSX successfully bind:
The associated RSX's indicator light is lit in yellow for 10 seconds.
The new WRS issues a CHECK RSX command to verify wireless link quality.
5. If using HMI commands to bind, disconnect the computer from the new WRS.
6. Mount the new WRS onto the sensor base plate.

Replacing an Existing RSX

To replace an existing or failed RSX:
1. Disconnect and unmount the existing RSX.
2. Mount and connect the new RSX.
3. Bind the new RSX with the WRS using the auto-binding cable or by following these steps using HMI
commands.
