What You Need to Do Before Using the
FrameSaver 9120

Subscribe to ISDN service if using an ISDN BRI DBM.
Get DLCI numbers and CIR from the Network Service Provider.
Modify network design to include FrameSaver access units (for examples,
see Chapter 3, Typical Applications in the FrameSaver 9120 Technical
Reference ).
Define IP addressing scheme, with an IP address assigned to the
FrameSaver access unit, and IP addresses and subnet masks added to
configuration worksheets (for IP addressing examples, see Chapter 2,
Management Control and IP Addressing and for configuration worksheets,
see Appendix B, Configuration Worksheets , in the FrameSaver 9120
Technical Reference ).
Install ISDN BRI DBM, if ordered separately (see the ISDN BRI Dial Backup
Unit (DBM), Installation Instructions ).
Install FrameSaver access unit, ready to be configured (see the 1-Slot
Assembled Access Unit, Installation Instructions ).
Determine the configuration shortcuts to be used before the network cable is
connected (see Chapters 1, 3, and 4 of the FrameSaver 9120 Technical
Reference for additional information).
Complete configuration worksheets for configuring the FrameSaver
access unit (see Appendix B, Configuration Worksheets , of the FrameSaver
9120 Technical Reference ).
