Initial Physical Installation
The DS0 TSI-MUX plugs directly into the Total

chassis is rack mounted, with a System Controller
Unit slot, two multiplexer slots, and 22 access module
slots. Each module contains the interfaces and
appropriate circuitry to interface with the local loop.
No installation wiring is required.
Pull the ejector on the bottom of the DS0 TSI-MUX
front panel from its closed position.

NOTE
To avoid confusion with the multiplexer and
access module slots, the multiplexer slots begin
with the second slot from the left of the shelf and
are labeled "A" and "B." The access module
slots start with the fourth slot from the left of the
shelf and are numbered "1" through "28" on the
underlying silkscreen. Attempting to insert the
DS0 TSI-MUX in either the SCU or access
module slots may damage the module and/or the
backplane.
Gently, but firmly, push the DS0 TSI-MUX into the
proper slot. Simultaneous thumb pressure at the top
(above the Power LED) and bottom of the module will
ensure a good seat of the pins into the backplane
connector.
Push the ejector up and closed against the front panel
of the module.
When the DS0 TSI-MUX first powers up, the
POWER LED will illuminate RED. and remain RED
until the hardware is initialized. If the POWER LED
remains RED for longer than 60 seconds, the MUX
detected a fault.
At this point, the status LEDs will reflect the true state
of the hardware. The default configuration will
provide a FLASHING POWER LED indicating that
the DS0 TSI-MUX is provisioned to the Out of
Service, Unassigned service state.
Initial Installation Provisioning Options

TSI-MUX, the unit will be provisioned to factory
