Problem 3
The spade terminal connectors at the VMA are crimped using an
incorrect or inadequate crimping tool (often pliers).
Solution 3
For spade-terminal connectors, it is very important to use the crimping
tool recommended by the connector manufacturer. Many different
spade terminals are available, but each requires a crimping tool
designed specifically for its application.
If the VMA Zone Temperature continues to drift, one or more of the
field connections is still bad.
Comments
Since the crimp tool works for a
variety of different plug types,
order both the tool and die. This
tool is rated for >200,000
terminations.
