Confirm Proper
Brake Configuration
Proper brake configuration is essential to safe
operation and good machine performance.
Hydrostatic brakes and hydraulically released,
spring applied individual wheel brakes can appear
to operate normally when they are actually not
fully operational.
1 Check the torque hub disconnect caps to be
sure they are in the engaged position.
2 On 4WD models, be sure the free-wheel valve
on the drive pump is closed (clockwise).

Check the Oil Level
in the Torque Hubs
Failure to maintain proper torque hub oil levels
may cause the machine to perform poorly and
continued use may cause severe component
damage.
1 Drive the machine to rotate the hub until the
side plugs are located one on top and the other
at 90 degrees.
2 Remove the plug located at 90 degrees and
check the oil level.
Result: The oil level should be even with the
b
bottom of the plug hole.
c
3 If necessary, remove the top plug and add oil
until the oil level is even with the bottom of the
side plug hole, then re-install the plugs into the
hub.
4 Repeat this procedure for each torque hub.
