the preset buttons are cleared. In this
case, it is also necessary to preset the
desired stations again.
Preset scan
The radio receives each memorized pre-
set station (frequency) for 10 seconds. To
start a preset scan, press the "SCAN" but-
ton during radio reception. To stop the
preset scan, press the "SCAN" button
again.
Local seek function
LOCAL
You can turn the local seek function on or
off during FM or AM reception by pressing
the "LOCAL" button.

Cassette operation

NOTE
Only use good-quality cassettes.
(Cassettes longer than C-90 are not
recommended.)
Put cassettes back in their boxes im-
mediately after use to protect them
from dust and dirt and to prevent the
tape from unwinding.
Never expose cassettes to heat, di-
rect sunlight or moisture.
Clean the tape head once or twice a
month using a wet-type cleaning cas-
sette.
To play a cassette
When a cassette is not in the player
Insert a cassette into the player. Once the
cassette is partially inserted, the player
will automatically draw it inside and start
playing it.
When a cassette is in the player

Press the "TAPE" button. The display will
show "PLAY", and the player will start
playback.
Tape travel indicators
These indicate the direction in which the
cassette tape is moving.
: indicates that the top side of the cas-
sette is being played.
