Printer Model: Start SOM and follow the
procedures in the manual.
You must connect a PC to the printer to use SOM.
» USB
» Ethernet (use a normal Ethernet cable if connecting
through a network, or use a crossover Ethernet cable if
connecting directly to the printer).
There are two procedures.
One for engine firmware, and one for controller
firmware.
Note: The printer driver (and SOM - Smart
Organization Monitor, which installs
simultaneously with the printer driver) should be
installed before you start this procedure.
