The button text is normally the category name, but the configurer can give it any text. Category
names tend to be short.
It is a common convention that buttons for source categories and devices are green and buttons
for destination categories and devices are amber.
Suffix Page
When you press a category button, the NV9640 displays a suffix page which will contain buttons
forming a numeric keypad, other buttons that represent alphanumeric suffixes and perhaps a
few other buttons. Use the keypad to enter an index or suffixes of a device within the category. If
you make a mistake, press the 'Clear Preset' button and try again.
When you have finished entered an index or suffixes, press either the back button or the take
button if present. The panel will have tracked your entries by concatenating the index or suffixes
to the current destination name (for a destination category) or to a preset source name (for a
source category).
While you are pressing digits to enter an index, some of the numeric buttons can become
disabled. They do so because there are no further categories that can be selected using those
buttons. For example, if you have 14 devices in a category, numbered 1–14, after you press the
digit 1, digits 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 go dark. The digits 0–4 remain because they can be part of a valid
index.
The same is true for suffixes: if a suffix cannot be used for a device name, it is disabled.
Keep in mind that device names are limited to 8 characters.
A keypad normally has 10 buttons, 0–9. However, it is possible for a suffix page to have fewer
buttons.

Chop

When a "chop" function is supported by a router, the button is a toggle that enables and
disables "chop. " Chop is a rapid switching of the selected destination device between the
current source and the preset source.
The chop function is used to test system timing and would not be used during normal
operation.
The default button text is "Chop" but a chop button can have any legend.
Select a preset source and press 'Chop' to start the chop function. Press 'Chop' again to stop the
chop function.

Clear Preset

The 'Clear Preset' button removes all preset entries (while leaving the panel in the same mode).
The clear preset button has the side effect of switching off 'Save Preset' mode.
The default button text is "Clear Preset" but the button can have any legend.

Default State

This button returns the NV9640 to its most recent power-up state. You may consider this button
an emergency button or a "soft reset" button.
This button does not affect any previous routes. Only the panel itself is reset.
