Here is a summary of the procedures required to set the printer for use on a

NetWare
network.
Install the network interface board and connect the
network cable.
Follow the instructions in the Setup Guide to install the network interface board and connect the
network cable. The standard network-compatible printer does not require installation of the
network interface board; only the network interface cable must be connected.

Setting the NetWare
frame type.
®
The NetWare
frame type is set in order to set the printer protocol.
The setting can be done on the computer where NetSpot is installed.

Setting Up a NetWare
Print Service
Perform the settings for the NetWare
with one of the following software applications:
• NetSpot (Canon software application provided with the printer)
• NWADMIN or PCONSOLE (Novell software application provided with NetWare

Setting NetWare
Printer Protocol
Perform this procedure to set the printer protocol. You can perform these settings on the
computer with one of the following software applications:
• NetSpot
• Web Browser (Remote UI)
• FTP Client
Setting the Computer for NetWare
Perform these settings on every computer to be used with the printer.
Steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 should be performed by the network system administrator.
