OSPF Global Parameters

To define and display OSPF Global parameters, click the

The following parameters are displayed:

Description
The ID number of the router. The router ID must be
unique. By default, the router ID equals one of the
router IP addresses.
The administrative status of OSPF in the router. If not
checked, OSPF is not active on any interface, regardless
of the settings in the OSPF Interfaces window.
Controls redistribution of routes from RIP to OSPF. If
checked, all routes learned via RIP are advertised into
OSPF as external routes.
Controls redistribution of static routes into OSPF. If
checked, routes are advertised into OSPF as external
routes, according to the "Leak Route" definition for
each static route.
Controls redistribution of direct routes which are
external to OSPF. If checked, local subnets on which
OSPF is disabled are advertised into OSPF as external
routes.
