Exhaust system (DPF)
warning light (Diesel
Engine)
This warning light illumi‐
nates:
• When there is a malfunction with Die‐
sel Particulate Filter (DPF) system.
• When this warning light illuminates, it
may turn off after driving the vehicle:
- at more than 60 km/h (37 mph), or
- at more than 2nd gear with 1500 ~
2000 engine rpm for a certain time
(for about 25 minutes).
If this warning light blinks in spite of
the procedure (at this time the LCD
warning message will be displayed),
have the DPF system checked by a pro‐
fessional workshop. Kia recommends to
visit an authorized Kia dealer/ service
partner.
(if SCR warning light (Diesel
Engine)
This warning light illumi‐
nates:
• When the urea solution tank is nearly
empty.
If the urea solution tank is nearly emp‐
ty:
- Refill urea solution as soon as possi‐
ble.

CAUTION
n Diesel Engine with DPF (if
equipped)
If you continue to drive with the DPF
warning light blinking for a long
time, the DPF system can be dam‐
aged and fuel consumption can wor‐
sen.
Exhaust system (GPF)
warning light (Gasoline
Engine)
This warning light illumi‐
nates:
• When there is a malfunction with
Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) sys‐
tem.
• When this warning light illuminates, it
may turn off after driving the vehicle:
- The vehicle should be driven for
more than 30 minutes at a speed
of 80 k m/h (50 mph) and faster.
- Ensure the following conditions are
all met: safe road conditions,
transmission 3rd gear or above,
and engine speed of 1,500 - 4,000
rpm.
If this warning light blinks in spite of
the procedure (at this time the LCD
warning message will be displayed),
have the GPF system checked by a pro‐
fessional workshop. Kia recommends to
visit an authorized Kia dealer/ service
partner.
