Install the Mounting Hardware in an Open-Frame Rack

Place one spacer bar over a flange of the large shelf. Position the notch in the rear of

the spacer bar so the upper part of the bar is flush with the rack rail and the lower part
is flush with the flange of the shelf.
Secure the spacer bar by inserting a mounting screw through the nonthreaded holes

Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the other spacer bar.

Tighten all the screws completely.

Install the Small Mounting Shelf

The small shelf installs on the back of the rear rails, extending toward the center of the
rack. See

On the back side of each rear rail, partially insert a mounting screw in the highest

the flange of the small shelf with the partially installed mounting screw. The bottom
of the small shelf must align with the bottom of the large shelf.
Partially insert screws into the open holes in the flanges of the small shelf.

Tighten all the screws completely.

Remove the Center-Mounting Brackets

The router is shipped with a spacer bar attached to the back of each front-mounting
flange, and two center-mounting brackets attached to the chassis. Remove the
center-mounting brackets from the chassis by loosening the screws at the top and bottom
of each bracket.
For open-frame racks, you install the large mounting shelf:
Front-mount: Attach the large mounting shelf and the spacer bars to the back of the
rails. Remove the center-mounting brackets from the chassis.
Center-mount: Attach the large mounting shelf to the back of the rails (See
Figure 3 on page
10). You do not have to remove the spacer bars from the
front-mounting flanges.
The small mounting shelf is not needed for open-frame racks.
