NOTE:
The engine oil should be between the "F" 3 and
"E" 4 level marks on the oil level gauge/dip-
stick.
5. If the engine oil is below the "E" level mark,
add sufficient oil of the recommended type
to raise it to the "F" level mark.
CAUTION:
D When adding the engine oil, be careful not
to fill above the "F" level mark on the oil
level gauge/dipstick.
D Make sure that no foreign material enters
the engine oil tank.
6. Insert the oil level gauge/dipstick into the oil
filler hole, and then tighten it securely.
7. Connect the oil level gauge coupler.

BREAK-IN

There is never a more important period in the
life of your engine than the period between 0
and 500 km (300 mi). For this reason, you
should read the following material carefully.
Since the engine is brand new, do not put an ex-
cessive load on it for the first 500 km (300 mi).
The various parts in the engine wear and polish
themselves to the correct operating clearances.
During this period, prolonged full-throttle opera-
tion or any condition that might result in engine
overheating must be avoided.
Operating your snowmobile for the first time
Start the engine and let it idle for 15 minutes.
0 – 160 km (0 – 100 mi)
Avoid prolonged operation above 6,000 r/min.
160 – 500 km (100 – 300 mi)
Avoid prolonged operation above 8,000 r/min.
500 km (300 mi) and beyond
The snowmobile can now be operated normally.
CAUTION:
D After 800 km (500 mi) of operation, the en-
gine oil must be changed and the oil filter
cartridge replaced.
D Keep the engine speed out of the tachom-
eter red zone.
