Note: RAID cards are available in two widths. If the RAID card that you are installing does not match the
positioning of the left RAID card bracket, loosen the bracket screw, move the bracket to its other position,
and tighten the bracket screw.
Step 1. Connect the three cables to the RAID/HBA card.
Step 2. Rotate the RAID/HBA card down and align it with the connector on the storage interposer card;
then, insert the RAID/HBA card in the storage interposer card connector.
After you have installed the lower RAID/HBA card:
1. Install the lower fan cage. See "Install a fan cage (lower tray)" on page 128.
2. Install the lower compute tray or place it in the normal operating position; then, install the front cover.
See "Install a compute tray" on page 117 and "Install the front cover" on page 132.
3. Verify the RAID/HBA adapter is replaced successfully:
• The amber warning light on the node front panel is off.
• All of the drives are shown as online. Verify that the LSI HBA card is detected by running the l l s s p p c c i i
command:

– If the LSI HBA card is not present, ensure the card is properly connected. If the card is still not
detected, contact Lenovo Support.
– If the system fails to boot from the boot drive after the HBA replacement, verify the option ROM is
turned off for the HBA adapter.
4. Exit maintenance mode.
