To make the test run quicker and easier to per-
form, you will be instructed to remove the abrasive
belt from the machine. If you choose to leave the
belt on the machine for the test run, you MUST
perform the Replacing Abrasive Belt procedure
on Page 21 and Abrasive Belt Tracking proce-
dure on Page 23 to make sure the belt is properly
tensioned and tracked, and will not fall off the roll-
ers during the test run.
To test run machine:
1.
Using a 6mm hex wrench, loosen cap screw
that secures belt cover and open cover to
expose abrasive belt (see Figure 18).

2.
Pull belt tension lever up and toward front of
machine with one hand as you guide motor
forward with other hand (see Figure 19). This
releases abrasive belt tension.

Remove abrasive belt.
4.
Close and secure belt cover.
5.
Clear all setup tools away from machine.
6.
Connect machine to power supply.
7.
Twist Emergency Stop button clockwise until
it pops out—this resets switch so machine
will start (see Figure 20).

8.
Push ON button to start machine. A correctly
operating machine runs smoothly with little or
no vibration or rubbing noises.
9.
Press Emergency Stop button to turn machine
OFF.
10. WITHOUT resetting the Emergency Stop
button, press ON button. Machine should not
start.
—If machine does start (with Emergency Stop
button pressed in), immediately disconnect
power to machine. The Emergency Stop
button safety feature is not working correct-
ly. This safety feature must work properly
before proceeding with regular operations.

Note: To re-install abrasive belt, perform Installing
Abrasive Belt procedure on Page 21.
