Ingredients | For 4 servings
Medium glass roaster
Meat:
750 g pork shoulder, an oblong, narrow joint
Marinade:
30 g spring onions
20 g fresh ginger, peeled
1 tsp powdered five spice
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
100 ml Chinese char siu sauce or hoi sin sauce
For brushing:
2 tbsp honey

Preparation
1 | Rinse the meat briefly in cold water, pat dry
with kitchen towel and cut in half lengthwise.
2 | Trim and wash the spring onions and cut them
into pieces approx. 2 cm long. Cut the ginger into
small cubes. Mix the spices and the sauce in a
bowl. Add the spring onions and ginger. Leave the
meat in the refrigerator to marinate in the sauce
for at least 1 hour while covered over.
3 | Place the meat into a roaster and roast
uncovered as indicated.
