Replacing equipment
Removing equipment

Software disable the dual loop peripheral buffer:
LD 32
DISS l s

Set the ENB/DIS switch to DIS.

Tag and disconnect cables to the card you are removing.

Unhook the locking devices on the card; pull it out of the card cage.
Installing equipment

Set the ENB/DIS switch to DIS on the replacement card.

Set option switches on the replacement card the same as on the card
you removed. If there is a vintage change, be sure to check Circuit
Card: Installation and Testing (553-3001-211) for any differences.

Insert the replacement card into the vacated slot and hook the locking
devices.

Connect cables to the replacement card.

Set the ENB/DIS switch to ENB on the replacement card.

Software enable the replacement card by enabling the shelf:
ENLS l s
— When the process is complete, you will receive a system
response.
— If there is no problem, exit LD 32:

Test each shelf:
LD 30
SHLF l s
— If there is a problem, an NWS system message is generated and
the appropriate red LED lights on the faceplate of the card.
— If there is no problem, exit LD 30:
****
"l s" are the loop and shelf numbers
