(5) Eyepiece shutter closed lamp
Lights yellow when the eyepiece shutter is closed.
The motorized shutters are all closed when the lamp is not lit (and the eyepiece shutter is
open).
(6) Laser unit connector
Connects the connecting cable (DSUB, 25-pin) to the laser unit.
This cable is supplied with the laser unit.
(7) Serial IF connector
Connect the supplied RS-232C cable to control this system from your PC.
You can open or close motorized shutters from your PC. The following additional functions are
available when issuing commands from a PC:
• Timer-set operation of motorized shutters
Each of the motorized shutters can be timer-programmed so that it remains open for a
preset period (0.1 to 100 seconds).
The shutters are switched to timer-set operation mode even when operating the shutters
with the shutter button.
• Disabling shutter switch
A command can be issued to disable shutter operation with the shutter switch.
(8) Shutter switch
Opens or closes the motorized shutters.
With the microscope-mounted eyepiece shutter closed so that no light entering the eyepiece,
you can open or close the selected motorized shutter by repeatedly pressing this switch.
The eyepiece shutter is a safety device that protects against laser beam from entering the eye
through the eyepiece.
When the eyepiece shutter is opened, all motorized shutters will be closed. They will not open,
even if you press the shutter switch.
When the eyepiece shutter is closesd, the eyepiece shutter-closed lamp lights yellow.
Note that no motorized shutters will open if the eyepiece shutter connector is not connected.
The shutter switch lights yellow when the respective motorized shutter is open.
When the timer open/close mode is selected, this lamp flashes yellow while a motorized shutter
is open. (To select timer mode, specify a shutter time and other parameters from your PC.)
