Replacing the objective and the filter block

Before replacing the objective and the filter block, make sure that all lasers are off.
See the instruction manual of the microscope you use for information on how to replace the objective
or filter block.
Do not remove the objectives when the laser is on.
Never attempt to remove the objectives from the microscope when the laser is on.Removing
the objectives may cause the laser beam to be emitted through the sockets on the nosepiece,
resulting in exposure of the eyes or skin to the laser.

Moving or relocating the system

The following tasks are to be handled by trained service personnel. Any attempt by unauthorized
staff to perform these tasks during transfer or relocation of the system may result in exposure of the
eyes or skin to laser beams, or degrade system performance. If you need to move or relocate the
system, please contact your dealer.
• Detach the laser from the laser unit.
• Detach the optical-fiber cable from the laser unit.
• Detach the optical-fiber cable from the TIRF attachment.

Cleaning the lens section

When cleaning optical components, use a soft, clean cotton cloth, lens tissue, or gauze lightly
dampened with absolute alcohol (ethyl or methyl alcohol) to gently wipe off dirt or marks.
In particular, carefully check for marks on the tip of the objective and the cover glass. Marks on these
sections can substantially reduce contrast during TIRF observation.
