Step 10: Perform the PTX3000 Initial Software
Configuration
These procedures connect a PTX3000 to the network but do not enable it to forward traffic. For complete
information about enabling the PTX3000 to forward traffic, including examples, see the Junos OS
configuration guides.
You configure the PTX3000 by issuing Junos OS CLI commands, either on a console device attached to
the CON port, or over a Telnet connection to a network connected to the management Ethernet port.
NOTE: These procedures enable you to use the management Ethernet port. For the initial
configuration, use a device attached to the CON port.
