Troubleshooting Procedures
Installing the Model 8000 Remote Access Concentrator
4-18
Another Model 8000 Remote Access Concentrator
To troubleshoot a Model 8000 RAC configured as a load server host:
1.
Use the ping command from any host on your network to
make sure the Model 8000 RAC can be reached.
2.
Either use telnet or na to verify the unit's configuration.
Refer to Managing Remote Access Concentrators Using Command Line
Interfaces for more information about these commands.
A Model 8000 RAC that has been reconfigured as a load server host, but
has not been rebooted, cannot boot another Model 8000 RAC on the
network. Rebooting the Model 8000 RAC load server host ensures that
the parameters are set.
Do not set the preferred dump address to point to another Model 8000
Remote Access Concentrator. Set it to a host address, or to 127.0.0.1 to
disable dumping.
