Install connecting rod caps and retaining bolts
as follows:
tighten to 20-25 N·m ( 1 5- 1 8 1b-ft).
tighten retaining nuts to 40-45 N·m (30-33
lb-ft).
rotate nuts an additional 9Q- 1 20 degrees.
5.
Check connecting rod side clearance as
described in Section 03-QO.

NOTE: Coat sealing edge of camshaft rear
bearing cover with Perfect-Seal Sealing
Compound B5A- 1 9554-A or equivalent meeting
Ford specification ESE-M4G 1 1 5-A before
installation.
Install camshaft rear bearing cover using a
suitable driver.
7.
Coat camshaft lobes and camshaft bearings
(626 1 ) with Engine Assembly Lubricant
D9AZ- 1 9579-D or equivalent meeting Ford
specification ESR-M99C8Q-A.
