Servicing the rear suspension drop and drag link

With drop link and drag link still in place (connected to swinging arm and chassis,
respectively), rock them both back and forth in all directions to check for radial
and axial clearance. Some axial clearance in the drop drag link is required for
the swinging arm to achieve the ideal position for proper operation. If radial clear-
ance is found, it will be necessary to remove the part from the swinging arm or
from the chassis and check the wear of the spacer for the various components.
-
Position a lift under the lower central beam (1) of the chassis and lift the
motorcycle until the rear wheel has been lifted up off the ground.
-
Loosen the nut and remove the screw (2).
2
Fasten the vehicle in a steady position so that it cannot overturn;
use suitable stands and belts.
