3. Take the following actions with the terminating resistor(s):
• If the third fixed-disk drive is an R40 or R70, ensure that the
terminator resistor is in place.
• If the third fixed-disk drive is an E or 310 megabyte, remove
the terminator resistor(s) by pulling the paper tab(s), if
present, or by inserting a small, flat-bladed screwdriver under
one end of each resistor. Carefully pry up, alternating ends to
lift evenly.
Warning: Failure to remove the terminating resistor from
the third Type E or 310Mb fixed-disk drive may result in
adapter module damage.
Note: IBM 310 megabyte fixed-disk drives may look like either
of the bottom two examples below.
