When Speak Interrupt is on, a participant that turns on their microphone will override the last person in the speaker
list.

Controlling the Discussion Unit

DDS 5900 discussion units are programmable during setup to support the role of each member of a meeting.
Chairman
As the leader of the event, the chairman has several unique features enabled on the discussion unit.
• All-Delegate Off: For meeting management, the chairman uses this button to instantly turn off all delegate mi-
crophones and clear the Speaker list.
• Speak:The chairman can always turn on the microphone, overriding delegate units even when the maximum
number of open channels has been exceeded. Therefore, there is no mute button; the chairman simply presses
the Speak button to turn the microphone on and off.
Delegate
Delegate units contribute to the main audio mix called the floor mix. The number of simultaneous delegate speak-
ers is limited, requiring different control buttons to participate in the discussion:
• Speak: Turns on the microphone or adds the user to the request queue, depending on the system settings. Mi-
crophone status displayed by the button LED:
Red = microphone is on
