4. Use a case utility tool (1) or similar thin plastic tool to separate the front edge (2) of the bottom cover from
the keyboard/top cover.
5. Remove the bottom cover (3).
Reverse this procedure to install the bottom cover.

Before removing the battery, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

1. Disconnect the battery cable (1) from the system board.
2. Release the front speaker cable from the retention clips (2) built into the front edge of the battery.
3. Remove the four Phillips M2.0×3.9 screws (3) that secure the bottom cover to the computer.
4. Lift the rear edge of the battery (4) until it rests at an angle.
